COERR Church-based Volunteers Organized Water Blessing on Elderly Day

   The Elderly Day is held in April of every year. Therefore, COERRR church-based volunteer groups celebrated the elderly day ceremony. Organized activities involved visiting to elderly houses, performing water blessing to pay respect to elderly and receiving their blessing; offering gifts, most of which were the consumable supplies or nutritious food or common medicines or herbs, as to bring moral support to the elderly or the bed-ridden sick in the community. Additional activities such as hair cut are occasionally offered.

   On April 10, 2022, COERR Volunteer Group of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Paklad) Church in Samut Prakan Province organized the Elderly Day ceremony. Abbot of the Church also offered gifts to the elders who demonstrated the traits of good role model and inspired the communities to live meaningful lives.

   On April 14th, COERR Volunteer Group, Saint Anthony Catholic Church Na Sa Ung in Phetchabun Province, organized the water blessing ceremony for the elderly and community leaders and offered dry food supplies for the elderly, as well.

   On April 18th, Holy Family Catholic Church Mankhaw based Volunteers, in Loei Province, organized the water blessing ceremony for elderly and offered rice and dry food supplies for the needy in the communiy.

   On April 19th, COERR Volunteer, St. Jude Church, Chinnakhet, Bangkok, visited and offered rice, UHT milk, instant noodle, common medicine, adult diaper, disposable gloves, etc., to the elderly, bed-ridden and Covid-19 patients.

   On April 26th, COERR Ban Na Pho Group in Nakhon Panom Province, visited the elderly to offer gift and haircut service to them.

   On May 4th, COERR Volunteer Group in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Bangkok visited the Camillion Social Center, Prachin Buri Province in order to offer consumable supplies to the sick and bed-ridden elderly, both Catholic and non-Catholic, who have been well taken care there.

   Activities of COERR Volunteer Group in Non-Sombun community, Khon Kaen Province, included visits to elderly and sports promotion in order for children and youth to spend time creatively and stay away from alcohol and drug use.
